Take a trip to China – no passport required! Opening this February, Children's China transports visitors halfway across the globe to experience what life is like for children in China today – a country where timeless traditions endure amidst a modern lifestyle.
Ping Yan were invited as an aritsit for painting a serial of commitioned Chinese brush artworks for the exhibiton.
Experience six engaging and immersive settings that bring Chinese culture to life! Visitors will care for pandas in the panda reserve, participate in a Chinese New Year celebration with a Chinese dragon, explore a contemporary classroom, restaurant, park and more within this one-of-a-kind exhibit. Children's China integrates the time-honored teachings of Confucius, China's great teacher, with a focus on the importance of education and family values.
Created by The Magic House in partnership with the Confucius Institute at Webster University and Character Plus, Children's China is a nationally traveling exhibit designed to increase understanding of the Chinese culture. Plan your trip to China at The Magic House today!
Prepare for your visit to Children’s China by downloading “The League of Extraordinary Bloggers” – an app developed as a pre and post visit activity for families looking for a content rich, age-appropriate introduction to four Asian cultures.
The League of Extraordinary Bloggers App was created to build on and extend the exhibit experience and connect all visitors with a broader realm of resources for exploring Asian cultures. The App can be downloaded at www.LXBGame.com.

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (KTVI)- Kids can learn the ancient art of Chinese brush painting at The Magic House. Instructor and visiting artist Ping Yan shows her technique for painting all sorts of images, like animals, flowers and trees.

Artist Ping Yan was a featured artist in the St. Louis Artists’ Guild’s Summer Regional Exhibition. The show is an all-media, all-styles,
all-content juried exhibition of work created by artists residing in Missouri and Illinois.
Cash prizes totaling $1000 will be awarded by the juror during an Awards Ceremony
on Friday, June 13, 2014 at 7pm.
This exhibit is juried by Najjar Abdul-Musawwir, Associate Professor of Studio Arts
and Art History in the School of Art and Design and Africana Studies at Southern
Illinois University in Carbondale.
The St. Louis Artists’ Guild is located in at 2 Oak Knoll in Oak Knoll Park in Clayton,
MO, near the intersection of Clayton Road and Big Bend Boulevard. Oak Knoll Park is
on the left side of Big Bend, north of Clayton Road, just before Fontbonne University.
The Artists’ Guild is the second stone building in the park.
